workshop details

If you’d like to work on larger macramé projects than we can comfortably make in a regular beginner’s workshop and you have a basic knowledge of a couple of the foundational macramé knots, this is for you! Over the course of four weeks, two hours each week, I’ll help you as you plan the piece you’d like to make, work out how much cord you’ll need and – crucially – the lengths you’ll need to cut, and be on hand to offer assistance as you bring your very own design to life. The sessions are guided, as opposed to taught, but you only need a very basic knowledge of the knots to get involved. You can learn and experiment as you go as you’re not under the same time pressure as you are in a regular workshop. It’s a chance to let loose the artist within, working at your own pace, incorporating more advanced knots if you like, all the while being supported as you explore your creativity, sharing time with like-minded people. This is self-care of the best kind: two hours every week, just for you, where you get to slow the pace, push aside the daily grind and just lose yourself in the rhythm of the knotting. So, what could you make? Perhaps you already have some ideas: a large wall hanging incorporating a beautiful piece of driftwood, a one-of-a-kind handbag, an impressive chandelier or intricate, multi-level plant hanger. Perhaps you’d like to make a series of smaller items and want to make them in the company of others for inspiration and motivation. Maybe you’re a 2026 bride with a boho-chic theme and you want to make decorative pieces for such as macramé vases and lanterns for your wedding and reception, even the backdrop to your vows! The options are pretty much endless. Spaces are limited to six people each week so everyone has enough space to work and time to receive the support they need. What’s included in the initial Macramé Club membership? Four x 2-hour sessions in consecutive weeks Materials including a selection of macramé cord, driftwood, dowels, beads and sketch paper Inspiration boards and samples of knots to help you create your design Expert guidance Refreshments When booking please pick the date you'd like your first session to be from the available dates. You'll be able to add further weeks after the initial membership period, with a discount for block booking. There may also be opportunities for short notice, ad-hoc pay as you go sessions, which will be announced on my Instagram and Facebook pages.
