Here comes the sun! Longer and warmer days are just around the corner and they’ll be bringing with them a return to fun, casual outfits and outings and this macrame string bag is a perfect fit for all your spring and summer activities. As a market bag it’s ideal for a trip to the shops and as a beach tote for stuffing with a towel, sunscreen and your favourite book and heading to the shore. It’s easy to make, so really suited for beginners, but with enough complexity for improvers to find it engrossing. A great project with the added benefit of a really useful end product! Plus, the cosy glow and sense of pride you get at having made it from scratch with your own two hands cannot be underestimated! I’ve added a little terracotta detail to the handle but there will be a whole range of colours available at the workshop and you can choose the one (or more!) that suits your own style. And, as ever I’ll show you how you can customise your bag to make it just the way you’d like it. You might really, really not like tassels, for example, and that’s OK! The workshop lasts 3 hours and is limited to six spaces, which allows everyone to work at their own pace and means I can give everyone the individual help they need.
